  • Annie Johnson and her husband, William Johnson, conceded about their struggling marriage. She told him she didn't their marriage will work out. He also told her that he was going to leave to study religion in Oklahomo.
  • Meat Pies . . . yeah
  • Now that Annie was by herself, she had to make a way to make money so she could to take care of herself and her children. She thought about about giving food to the straving men who worked at the mill.
  • Meat Pies . . . yeah
  • Annie walked back and forth between the mills carrying rocks to prepare for carrying the meat pies for them.
  • Customers/The men who worked at the two mills began buying the meat pies Annie was selling.
  • Every day, every month, and each few years, the customers relied on her meat pies for lunch. She began getting successful so she moved to a shop.
  • Annie's shop began getting successful as she sold food and other important items. Annie's story shows that when we are all in bad times we need to change to make ourselves and our lives better.
