- I’m here to tell you the reason why Absolutism started. Absolute monarchs claimed legitimacy from 2 sources: Herdeity from their family divine rights (similar to the Mandate of Heaven). Absolutism is when someone is in control of everything has power over everything and everyone.
- King Charles acted like an absolute monarch which led to Oliver Cromwell’s idea of a constitutional monarchy since King Charles 1 was difficult to deal with. King Jong- Un is an modern day absolute monarch because of the way he rules which is too strict for his citizens making it hard to live in North Korea.
- Absolutism impacted the 30 years war which was a series of wars fought to suppress the power of nobles. Some impacts are: The peace of Westphalia, 1/ 3 of Germany’s population died, diseases, and fortune starvation.
- The Enlightenment was an innovation from absolutism which regulated the level of control absolute monarchs should have. Yes, enlightenment ideas still helps in the mordern day which keeps presidents in their place.
