- After Ponyboy went home and got hit by Darry, he was very upset and angered. At first, he wanted to run away but eventually decided to just walk to the park and back with Johnny. This scene is Johnny and Ponyboy walking to the park in the middle of the night.
- Once Ponyboy and Johnny arrive at the park, everything seems calm and relaxing. A blue mustang shows up around the corner, full of Socs. . "The blue Mustang was circling the park slowly." (54). The Socs were drunk and looking for a fight. They instantly push Ponyboy into the fountain and attempt to drown him while a few others beat up Johnny. "I couldn't hold my breath any longer." (56) Ponyboy was on the verge of dying. Until Johnny stabbed a Soc. This is the scene where Johnny kills Bob.
- This scene is when Johnny and Ponyboy are at Buck Merril's house talking to Dally. They went to talk to Dally to get advice and help for what to do. Dally gives them $50, and a gun. He tells them to get on a train and hide out in an abandoned church in Windrixville. They are now hiding out there until they figure out what is happening with the police and if they would get in trouble for the murder of Bob.
