What is Echolocation? Echolocation is the use of sound waves and echoes to determine where objects are in space
We use echolocation to navigate and find food in the dark. We send out sound waves from the mouth or nose. When the sound waves hit an object they produce echoes. This helps us to see in dark.
Bats and whales uses echolocation.
We use echolocation for hunting navigating and talking to each other .
We send high frequency click sounds into the environment. The sounds then bounce off distant objects, and we get back the echoes which helps us to locate the object.
Fun Facts1. Animals that are able to use echolocation typically have one transmitter and two receivers.2. In this process, the returning echoes give the animal an image of some parts of the environment.3. It works better underwater than on land because it is easier for sound waves to travel through water than through air.
Does anyone have any questions? If we will see you tomorrow.
