  • In 1606, about 100 English Men & Women set sail for the New World on the Mayflower boat. This occurred during the reign of King James l.

  • In Late December, the 100 English Men & Women had arrived at Plymouth Rock, which would later become the first permanent settlement of Europeans in New England.

  • While they were developing their city, a Native man named Tisquantum, or Squanto came across the city the Pilgrims were in. who would soon become a citizen of the city.
  • Right after Squanto moved in with the Pilgrims, he was proven to be a very big amount of help. A tribe nearby had been watching the Pilgrims civilization, so Squanto and the tribe leader Chief Massasoit talked to make peace. Soon enough the peace treaty was accepted.
  • The Native tribe, Pokanoket, soon helped the Pilgrims develop their city and soon enough the cit was completely constructed. You are currently looking at one of the streets of the city.
  • A few weeks after the winter season had passed, both the Pokanoket tribe and the Pilgrims wanted to celebrate for surviving the winter. The festival would last three days, but soon after the festival ended, their relationship would decline as more people came to their land and conquered the nearby tribes
