The main problem of the story. Percy has to slay Medusa and bring her head back to Athene. Also, if he looks at Medusa's head he is turned to stone, and there is no way to turn him back.
Falling Action
The problem gets worse. When Percy meets the Grey Sisters, they won't tell him where the Gorgons are.
Resolution
WHAT!?!?!?
The turning point or most exciting part of the story. “. . . and Medusa, as she tossed, threw back her wings and showed her brazen claws.”
