  • Hot, dry, windy days are days of high fire danger. It's also good to check the fire danger rating which can tell you how bad a fire would be if one was to occur. Checking whether broadcasts are good to see if a potential fire will come so you can prepare.
  • It's important for you to have essentials with you when having to leave the house for an emergency, you can have an emergency kit for when you do need to evacuate, it should include things like; a flashlight, water, long-lasting food, a woollen blanket, protective clothing, your phone and important documents. If you have pets and small children you should help them to evacuate.
  • Before the fire front arrives you should:- alert family members and neighbours -bring any pets inside -Dress in protective clothing -Shut all of the windows and doors -Place wet towels in crevices like under doors -Fill up bathtubs and sinks with water -Take down any curtains- Outside you should remove any flammable items like wooden furniture -Dampen any dry areas outside
