- In Hawkins, lived four pre-teened boys named Mamun, Wafi, Lucas, and Dustin. They were playing board games until 6 PM in the afternoon, and all of them were continuously trying to win.
- After playing for a bit, Mamun was acting childish over the board games and starting to be rude, so Wafi, Dustin, and Lucas all decided to leave and not be friends with Mamun.
- Something happened to my son and his friends!
- What exactly happened, madam?
- They all started biking their way home until Wafi requested if they could go to his house instead of just ending the day alone. Both Dustin and Lucas agreed so they cycled to his house.

- Who are you?
- As they were cycling to Wafi's house, they suddenly ran into a monster and had nowhere to run as the monster was already in front of them. They were all frightened as the monster was much larger than them. They were then taken by the monster and disappeared.
- The next day, they were unheard of all of their moms and dads were so worried to the point that Wafi's mom, Joyce, contacted the chief of police, Hopper as she expected something bad happened.
- Even though Mamun was ditched by his friends, he still decided to look for them the next day as it was on the news that they were lost. While trying to find them, he found a strange girl, who couldn't speak English so well and who had her shaved in the woods. Her name was Eleven.
