Hey mike! Can you help me understand the diffrence between mass and weight?
Of cource I can! Here is the diffrence.
We use mass when we wanna measure how much an object contains. When we measure the mass of something, we use a triple beam balance. Mass is also weighed in kg.
When you drop something heavy or light on the ground, ever wonder why it goes straight down? Well the downward pull on an object due to gravity is is weight and we meausre weight using lb.
No no, I understand well but I think I would get it better if you can explain in examples.
Do you not understand still?
Oh of course I can!
You see that table? It has mass. Everything around us has mass but they also have weight. Weight is the meaasure of force. Weight can change but mass cannot. Mass is the measure of matter that takes up an object. If my mass is 50kg and weight is 110lb,
My weight on the moon would be 50kg and 18lb.
Ohhhh, I understand much better now! Thank you so much!
Your welcome!
