- Why didn't they take me to Ithaca?
- Odysseus, the Phaeacians have brought you home! This is Ithaca! However, you must listen to my orders. If not, you might be killed!
- Lady Athena! Why have they not brought be to my home?
- I have known transform you into another figure so that no one from Ithaca can recognize you.
- No offense my lady but I don't enjoy being in this form. My back hurts
- The Phaeacians took Odysseus home on their ship but didn't want to wake him up from his sleep. They set him and his gifts on the ground and when Odysseus woke up, he was a little confused. Athena made Ithaca look foggy and unfamiliar because he didn't want him to run to shore and get himself killed. The suitors are waiting to ambush his son, and if they see Odysseus, they'll probably kill him.
- Athena appeared before Odysseus and explained what he needed to do to rescue his wife and son from the suitors. She told Odysseus to go to Eumaues where he will be safe. During this, Odysseus agreed to what to do in order to rescue his son and his wife from those horrible suitors.
- Athena then transformed Odysseus into an elder man. She did this so that he would look less intimidating out in the open than he would in his natural form. And after she has done this, Athena sent Odysseus on his way to the swineherd.
