- Cassius persuades his friend Brutus to join the conspiracy in Julius Caesar by suggesting that defeating Caesar is a matter of honor for all who love Rome.
- Casca tells Cassius about Julius becoming king
- They're planning to make Caesar king.
- A soothsayer appears and warns Caesar that he must beware the 15th of March. Caesar dismisses him and leaves Brutus and Cassius alone.
- Brutus plots with the conspirators
- We must kill him!
- Casca comes running breathlessly to announce to Cicero that he has seen something so tempestuous and alarming that he believes the gods have been incensed to send destruction.
- Calpurnia nightmares about Caesar's death
- Don't go!
- Why not?
- Casca tells Cassius that a group of senators plan to make Caesar king the next day, and Cassius vows to commit suicide before becoming a subject of Caesar's.
- The conspirators come in the middle of the night to convince Brutus that Caesar must be killed, and that only Brutus can save Rome from tyranny.
- Caesar's wife Calphurnia get's nightmares about Caesar's death and tells him to stay home.
