Today in class we talked about food borne illnesses such as cross contamination and viruses! Today I found out that if we don't keep our kitchen clean we are exposed to bacteria and micro-organisms that contaminate our food and make us sick
The more we keep our kitchen clean the less we are exposed to viruses such as the Norovirus! This virus is caught through coming into contact with someone who is already sick with symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. It can also be caught by eating and drinking contaminated foods and drinks as well as touching your face and mouth after coming into contact with contaminated surfaces... It is good to take precaution by washing our hands as well as keeping our environment clean!
We should clean up immediately just in case! I don't want to get sick
Yes! Some things we can do to help prevent us from catching the norovirus by washing our hands with soap and water often, avoid touching our mouths, disinfecting surfaces with a bleach based cleaner, wash our clothes often, rinse fresh fruits and vegetables, and cook shell fish properly!
What are some of the symptoms of the norovirus?
Some symptoms of the norovirus is nausea, vomiting, stomach pains, fever, muscle pains, and bathroom problems.... If you are affected by the norovirus the important thing to do is rest and hydrate yourself with
Wow well know that we know we can try our best to stay safe and clean!
