President John Adams sits here late at night writing letters for new judges he wants to appoint. Due to the long nights he spent writing the letters, they will become nicknamed to The Midnight Judges. With his presidancy being almost up, he will leave these letters for incoming president Thomas Jefferson.
Look at this! He left commissions for me to send to appoint new judges. Do not under any orders deliver these.
Ok Mr. President.
You people stole my job! The president and the secretary of state are withholding my job! I am furious!!
One of the people that were meant to receive these commissions was William Marbury. When he found out that he didn't receive them, he wanted to have James Madison go against him on trial in court.
I want a court order for him to give me my commision now!
I can't do something when the constiution says I am not allowed.
What!
From now on it is more important to realize that The Supreme Court can not and will not force other people to do or give things in. That is the job of the exectuative branch.
The Constitution is what we act on. Case in point, we follow the Consitituion with no exception.
