Training with Baron Fredrick von Steuben
Most soldiers were without clothing, shoes, bedding, and blankets.It was miserable and caused many other problems for the soldiers.
Many were sick with disease such as Typhoid, Dysentery, Typhus, Influenza, and much more.
Training with von Steuben was tough, but worth it. He taught the army how to fight with bayonets, and did many teamwork drills.
