- How does the Holy Family help us know God?
- The Holy Family
- God had a plan for Jesus to be born and raised in a family. God chose Mary to give birth to Jesus, He did this because Mary believed in Jesus before she was born, she believed in God for her entire life, and she was a faithful person. She was faced with the decision to trust God ad give birth to Jesus, or say no to God. Mary said yes to God even when she was confused and hesitant. When mary was pregnant, Joseph was silently going to part ways with Mary because he knew that Mary's baby was not his. Then Joseph had a drean that changed everything. In his drean an angel came to him and said "... ' Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save hid people from their sins.' " (Matthew 1:20-21) Joseph could of turned his back on Mary and God, but he said "yes" to God and Mary. With Joseph's "yes", Joseph agreed to be Jesus's father on earth.

- 3. The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you ; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called the Son of God... For nothing will be impossible with God.
- 1. Greetings favoured one! The Lord is with you... Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God. And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be called the Son of the Most High... and of his kingdom there will be no end.
- What you heard was Mary's choice to say "yes" to God. Mary's "yes" to God shows that she has great faith and trust in God. Her "yes" also shows that she truly believes Jesus is the Messiah. Because of her belief and willingness to give birth to Jesus, Mary becomes the first disciple and Mother of Jesus.
