  • Our government has one of the most sophisticated and equal constitution which is filled with many amendments. Our amendments are always changed and some are added. For our constitution to pass another amendment we must first have agreement either by the Congress, through a joint resolution passed by a two-thirds vote, or by a convention called by Congress in response to applications from two-thirds of the state legislatures.
  • Almost forgot to tell you children we have one more clause that unifies our government, and that is the Supremacy clause. The Supremacy Clause of the Constitution of the United States establishes that the Constitution, federal laws made pursuant to it, and treaties made under its authority, constitute the supreme Law of the Land, and thus take priority over any conflicting state laws. This helps us maintain order in our states and just for all people.
  • The United States Constitution and its amendments comprise hundreds of clauses which outline the functioning of the United States Federal Government, the political relationship between the states and the national government, and affect how the United States federal court system interprets the law. Some of our clause are full faith clause, credit clause, privileges clause, and immunity clause. Full Faith and Credit Clause, addresses the duty that states within the United States have to respect the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state.
  • And for our other clauses, The Privileges and Immunities Clause, they prevent a state from treating citizens of other states in a discriminatory manner. Additionally, a right of interstate travel is associated with the clause.
