Methane lake before 2007 (the molecules in the lake are in a liquid phase).
The sun is adding energy into the lake which increases the speed and freedom of movement of the molecules. This will result in some of the liquid methane, phase changing into a gas.
Methane lake on Titan during the summer (summer lasts over 7 years on Titan)
Overall, the methane lake didn't evaporate before the summer of 2007.
After the lake received more kinetic energy during the summer of 2007, some of the molecules may have started to phase change into a gas which means that the attraction levels of the molecules were low. This is because in a gas phase the attraction levels are low and cause the molecules to separate. In a liquid phase, the attraction levels are medium because some molecules are separated and some are together. However, when a lot of energy is removed from a substance the substance becomes a solid which has the highest attraction levels because they are all stuck together and have less freedom of movement than any other phase.
After the summer of 2007.
