Direct Inguinal Hernia- Caused by weakening of abdominal muscles overtime. Indirect Inguinal Hernia- Develops since birth, happens to males when the opening of the groin area does not close and happens to females when reproductive organs slide into the groin area because of a weakness in the abdominal muscles.
