- Baba built an orphanage when Amir was young. People said he can't do it because he had no skills about design and architect. They said Baba can't run business, but Baba became one of the successful businessmen in the city.

- Amir and Baba went to watch a popular animal sport with a rider on it. During the sport, rider fell and Amir cried. Baba later talked with Rahim Khan, saying he is worried if Amir can stand up for himself as a kid and as an adult in the future.
- Amir's grandfather took a young Ali home after Ali's parents had a car accident. Ali and Baba lived together. However, Baba didn't call Ali as a friend. Same for Amir and Hassan. Amir never thought of Hassan as a friend when they were young.
- Amir enjoyed writing and he told Hassan a made-up story. But then Hassan enjoyed it, so Amir wrote a story by himself. He tried to show Baba, but instead, Rahim Khan read it and said Amir is talented. At night, he went to tell Hassan his new story, but Hassan didn't like as much as the made-up one.
