- I am afraid that the servants may have woken up and the murder did not happen. If we were to attempt murder and not succeed, we would be ruined. I put the daggers where Macbeth could easily see them, there is no way he missed it.
- I heard the owl scream and the crickets cry
- That's a stupid thing to say
- This is a sorry sight *looking at blood on hands*
- I have done the deed, did you hear any noise?
- Malcolm and Donalbain are sleeping in the same room
- Don't think about it so much
- A servant laughed in his sleep, and one yelled, “Murder!” and they woke each other up. I stayed there and listened to what they were saying, but then they said their prayers and fell back asleep.
- One cried, "God bless us!" and the other replied with, "amen." It was as if they had seen my bloody hands. Hearing the fear in their voices, I could not reply amen when they said, "God bless us."
- We have to try not to think about it that way, if we do it will drive us crazy
- But why couldn't I say "Amen?" I was in desperate need of a blessing, but the word "Amen" was stuck in my throat.
- What are you talking about?
- Who said that? You are making yourself weak thinking about things in this cowardly way. Go get some water and wash the blood from your hands. These daggers should have never left the room, take them back and smear blood on the sleeping guards.
- The voice kept crying, “Sleep no more!” to everyone in the house. “Macbeth has murdered sleep, and therefore Macbeth will sleep no more.”
- I thought I heard a voice cry, “Sleep no more! Macbeth is murdering sleep.” Innocent sleep. Sleep that gets rid of all of our worries. Sleep that puts each day to rest. Sleep that relieves the sore laborer and heals hurt minds. Sleep, the most nourishing part of life's feast.
- You coward! Give me the daggers. The sleeping and the dead can only hurt you as much as a picture could. If Duncan bleeds I will paint the servants faces with it. We must make it seem like they are guilty.
- I won't go back. I am afraid to even think about what I have done. I can't stand to look at it again.
