- Hi. I’m Gina from the story Lost in Death Valley. I will be summarizing our scary but lesson teaching experience.
- Me, my mom, Donna, and our friend Jenny went to Death Valley.We visited attractions, and came across the sign for “Racetrack” (a popular attraction) while leaving one. On the way we took a wrong turn. We could tell because we were gaining elevation.We had no idea where we were and had no better choice than to spend the night in the car.
- We split up the next morning. Jenny and my mom looked for something edible while I looked for help. After coming to a realization that there was nobody close enough to help us, I begged my mom to try starting the car again. Luckily, it worked.
- After hours of driving, we ran out of gas. We had no idea where we were and had no better choice than spending the night in the car.
- Back at home, Sky (my sister) grew worried. She called CHP (California Highway Patrol) after hacking into our mom’s credit card statement and seeing our last purchase was the day before at Scotty’s Castle (an attraction.) The search began.
- Meanwhile, we were looking around the area for anything useful. After breaking into a few trailers, we found a radio and hooked it up to the car. That didn’t work out due to the heat.
- At least we had found some oatmeal, jerky, beer, beans, a water hose to drink from and some mattresses to sleep on. I was dehydrated and too weak to eat, but my mom managed to make me take a few bites of oatmeal.
- After days and days, We were rescued by Tyler Johns and Scott Steele. This whole thing has made me more confident, and taught me to be thankful for everyday I get.
