- Rainsford fell off of a boat trying to see where the gunshot was coming from. Then he fell into the Caribbean sea at night so no one saw him fall off the boat. So he decided to swim toward the sound that he heard before he fell. He got to an island and saw lights so he followed the lights and found a mansion. Then he meets General Zaroff and he meets Ivan Zaroffs body guard. The island was called ship trap island.
- Climax
- Rainsford was trapped on ship trap island with General Zaroff. General Zaroff was nice to him at the beginning of the story. He was trying to fatten him up before he tries to kill him. There is a difference between hunting and being hunted.
- Falling Action
- When General Zaroff said that he would give Rainsford three hours before he would come looking for him.For Rainsford to get set free from the island he would have to survivefor three days. Zaroff gave him food, clothes, and a small hunting knife.
- Resolution
- Rainsford jumps off of the cliff and swims to Zaroff mansion and Zaroff said “One of us is to furnish a repast for hounds. The other will sleep in this very excellent bed.” Rainsford won the game.
- Rainsford said that “he had never slept in a better bed. Rainsford beat general Zaroff and won the game. Rainsford survived three days on the island in the forest.
- General Zaroff thought that Rainsford was dead when he jumped off the cliff into the sea but then Rainsford shows up in zaroff bedroom to kill him.
