- Elizabeth Fry was born in the industrial revolution on May 21, 1780, in the city of Norwich in a very wealthy family.
- The industrial revolution left many families rich but also poor, in 1789 Elizabeth realized this situation and was not able to ignore it.
- When Elizabeth arrives home again, she begins to help others. He started with the poorest children in the area, he bought them clothes and gave them classes
- Later Elizabeth married and went to live in London and there in 1813 her friend Stephen Grellet told her about the terrible conditions in Newgate prison. That they had no clothes or food and slept on the cold floor.
- The moment Elizabeth found out about this situation, she brought blankets, clothes, coats and fresh straw to the prison for the inmates accompanied by her friend Anna Buxton.
- In 1817 Elizabeth returns to the prison, but this time it was to help the children and for this she created a committee. With their permission, they agreed to help set up a classroom and the mothers join there.
