  • Oh! Hello didn't see ya there. Today's lesson will be the cell cycle! Lets Begin!
  • The first phase in the cell cycle is....Prophase! Prophase is the first phase of cell division. During Prophase chromatin turns into chromosomes and the membrane breaks down.
  • The first phase is Interphase.
  • The Cell Cycle has 4 phases. Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase,. Cytokinesis. Mitosis, and Interphase are Included in this lesson also!
  • The second phase is Metaphase! Metaphase is the stage in Mitosis in which the chromosomes are very condensed. During Metaphase the spindle collects all the chromosomes and lines them up in the middle of the cell.
  • Interphase is the phase that includes the G1, S, and G2 phase. During Interphase the cell grows and develops DNA.
  • Now lets get into Mitosis! Mitosis is basically apart of cell division. During Mitosis two daughter cells are divided and end up with the same amount and type of chromosomes.
  • Time to move on to.....Anaphase! Anaphase is the fourth step in mitosis. During Anaphase genetic material is put into the two identical daughter cells.
  • Now lets talk about Cytokinesis. Cytokinesis occurs at the end of mitosis. During Cytokinesis the daughter cells are separated equally.
  • Now you may ask "What happens if something goes wrong during the cell cycle"? If something goes wrong during the cell cycle the cell tries to repair the DNA.
  • And finally the last phase, Telophase. During Telophase chromosomes go to opposite end of the cell. This causes two nuclei to be formed.
