  • Gunpowder is used in firearms, it's somewhat of an explosive.

  • Yes, gunpowder is so important! It impacted us so much.
  • Is it important?
  • Gunpowder is a black powder. It contains sulfur, saltpeter, and charcoal. They each have different specific portions in the mixture. 
  • Originally there would be small amounts of gunpowder wrapped in bamboo/paper and then attached to an arrow. The arrow would then be lit with a fuse. Back then, it would also be used in cannons. As time went on gunpowder started to be used in guns, courtesy of the British.
  • Gunpowder impacted China’s society and the world extremely. It impacted warfare, technological advances, and trade. Gunpowder was used quite a lot in wars, without it the course of history would be extremely different. Many wars would’ve not happened or just would’ve been very different due to no actual firearms. Gunpowder spread to other countries because it was traded. When people realized what it could do, it became extremely valuable.
