My story began nearly 60 million years ago as hot magma erupting from a volcano. Upon exposure to the cool temperatures of the earth's surface i immediately solidified into what they call an extrusive igneous rock
Since I cool so quickly from lava to a rock there was no time for crystals or grains to form and I was smooth-some even may say I was glassy
i realized fragments of myself chipping off to the point i couldn't even recognize myself and it was not fun.
being a young volcanic rock had its challenges such as climate change which included snowing, raining, wind.
shortly after i realized i was undergoing erosion. i saw my own fragments float away in this very river to a faraway stream, over the course of the next 16 million years i also eventually joined my fragments in the stream. i would lie if i din't say it was difficult saying goodbye to my life as a obsidian rock, but instead of sitting and crying i decided to accept that i would undergo change i couldn't even feel or see my surroundings anymore. it was a vast landscape of continental drifts everywhere
