- President Santa Anna of Mexico was forced out by Mexicans. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was made with the new government. In this treaty, Mexico gave America a huge chunk of land, and America payed $15 million fin return for it. This ended the war, and Mexico vied the Rio Grande River as their border with the US.
