Gabriel Klein 21 Y/O was found guilty on 1 count of 2nd degree murder under section 231 and 1 count of aggravated assault under section 268.inal Code

Mr. Klein had used a large hunting knife chosen before the act. He had Stabbed Letisha Reimer 13 Y/O 14 times, dying from her injuries, and stabbed E.I 14 Y/O 4 times before she escaped and returned to safety.

Associate Chief Justice Heather Holmes of the B.C. Supreme Court rejected Klein’s argument that he suffered a mental disorder that made him unable to appreciate the nature of his actions or that they were wrong.
Crown wanted 18 years to apply for parole based on s. 745.4 of criminal code, considering the character of the offender, and the nature of the offence.
Crown argues parole ineligibility greater than 10 years is justified when there is some particularly aggravating feature, whereas 15 to 20 years relates to cases atthe highest order of moral culpability or dangerousness
