In 1154, Henry ll King of England. He had a best friend called Thomas Becket - they did everything together and trusted one another.
Due to the kindness of the churches court, Henry made Thomas in charge of the cathedral. This was in 1162
Becket enjoyed his new job as an archbishop and when he was told to change the church courts, he refused. This broke out a argument which made Thomas leave to France.
Becket eventually came back to Britain and agreed to work together again. But it didn't last for long.
When Henry found out that Thomas was expelling people and telling them to go to hell, he told his soldiers to do something.
29th September 1170, Thomas Becket had died due to four knights.
