- This phase is called the new moon. It is the phase where we cannot see it. When the moon is dark we call it the dark side of the moon.
- Over the next few days we are going to be learning about the different phases of the moon
- This is a waxing crescent. Waxing means getting bigger. and it is in the shape of a crescent. Which means it is a cresent that is getting bigger
- What is this phase called?
- This phase is called the first quarter. half of the moon is dark and the other half is light.
- This is called the waxing gibbous. it is waxing becauise it is still getting bigger but it is almost done.
- Gibbous means, having the observable illuminated part greater than a semi-circle and less than a circle.
- It's like a full pie before thanksgiving dinner. After thanksgiving dinner it becaomes a new moon/pie.
- This is the full moon phase. There is no darkness showing. It is fully lit.
- After it reaches it reaches the waning phases. It goes waning gibbous, last quarter, waning crescent, then new moon. And then the cycle starts all over again. Have a good day.
