It looks more like a mannequin than Khalil in the casket.
Honey, open your eyes.
I don't know. My uncle's a cop. I know not all cops are bad. And they risk their lives, you know?. I'm always scares for my uncle. But I'm tired of them assuming. Especially when it comes to black people
Has this situation made you scared of cops in any way?
The next day they had a funeral for Khail. King lords came inside to put a#160;bandanna#160;on Khail but his grandma swatted them away. Starr wondered if the gesture meant Khalil was a King Lord. Just Us for Justice told everyone Khalil was unarmed when shot.
Yes. This all happened because we were black and the officer assumed we were up to no good. This is a very common problem and it is not fair. at all to us. His assumption killed Khalil.
Do you wish more cops wouldn't make assumptions about black people?
Starr and her family attends Khalil's funeral. She tells herself she is not seeing Khalil.#160; She did the same thing at their best friend Natasha's funeral when they were young, she reference Khalil and Natasha as a mannequins to deal with pain of seeing their lifeless body.#160;
What was your realtionship with Khalil?
He was my good friend, I've known him ever since I was younger.
Everybody wants to talk about how Khalil died, but this isn't about how Khalil died. It's about the fact he lived,Khalil lived! You hear me? Khalil lived!#160;
NO JUSTIC NO PEACE!
JUSTICE!
JUSTICE FOR KHALIL!
They were. asking me a bunch of questions, I wanted to really use the platform and my voice. to spread Awarness for Khalils death.
I spent three hours in the grand jury room answering all kinds of questions. I wanted. justice for Khalil, I answered all the questions truthfully just Like I remembered that night.
The grand jury decided not to indict the officer for shooting Khalil .Me and the community are looking for justice for Khalil. I wanted to speak out and defend my best friend. Yes, Khalil was put in adult situations and had to make some adult decisions at a very young age. However it doesn't change the fact that he was an unarmed black teenager who was shot and killed by a white officer who assumed that a hairbrush was a gun. I just want people to understand Khalil was a breathing, walking, talking human being that didn't deserve any of that.
