The Rioters begin to make fun of him because of how old he is.
Plotting
I'll show them what is up. I going to poison their wine and keep all the gold for myself.
The Rioters then asked the Old Man, where they could find death. The Old Man pointed them to a big oak tree.
The Killing
The three Rioters went over to the oak tree and found gold, not death. They then decided to keep the gold, so the youngest rioter ran to town to get bread and wine to survive till night.
Closing
Now you guys should feel honored.
While running to get bread and wine, the youngest rioter decided he would poison the wine to get all the gold. Simultaneously, the other two Rioters decided they would kill him to get all the gold.
It was now night, and they got the gold back. The two rioters killed the youngest one and then drank the wine. Unfortunately, the youngest rioter already poisoned the wine, and they died as well.
At the end of the Pardoner's tale, he tells all the pilgrims how they should be happy to be on their journey with him and be honored to be with him.
