Jesus is Tempted in the WildernessMatthew 4:1-11
Matthew 4:3-4
"If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."
It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:5-7
"If you're the Son of God, throw yourself down. Surely your angels will catch you."
"It is also written, do not put the Lord your God to the test."
Matthew 4:1-2 says, "Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, to be tempted by the devil after forty days and forty nights of fasting."
Matthew 4:8-10
“Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'”
The first temptation involves Jesus being tempted to turn the stones into bread, and Jesus proceeded to respond to Satan saying...
Matthew 4:11a
The second temptation has Jesus and the devil standing at the highest point on the highest pinnacle of the temple, and Satan tempts Jesus once more.
Matthew 4:11b
The third and final temptation of Jesus in the desert occurred at another very high place, and for the last time, Satan attempted to get Jesus to submit to him.
“All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
The devil finally left Jesus alone.
"AWAY FROM ME SATAN!"
The angels came and attended to Jesus, after resisting three different temptations.
