- Tree snakes have variation. They live in the trees but some of them cannot blend in well. The only predators they have are mainly big birds like eagles.
- 4: Competition & Natural Selection
- The snakes variation is their color of their skin. It is a dark brown, yellow, and red.
- 5: Adaptation
- The snakes have now over populated. Since they are so many snakes not much food will be available.
- Evolution Has Occured
- Eagles were killing the snakes that they could see better. So the red and yellow snakes were being eaten more than the brown ones.
- The brown snakes were more likely to survive since they would blend in better. So the brown snakes were more dominant.
- Evolution has occurred in this environment. It can be a slow or fast process. But in this the eagles killed the red and yellow snakes. So the brown snakes started to evolve more and expand more as a species.
