  • Hello, my name is Wilson Vanier. I want to inform you about the importance of preventing cuts.
  • To begin. Did you know that a sharper knife is safer than a dull knife?
  • That is because I am cutting the carrot and talking to you simultaneously
  • Currently, I am not using proper knife use skills. Therefore, I am at risk of cutting myself.
  • For example: if someone is talking to you, all you need to do is take a break and put the knife down.
  • Instead, you must focus and pay attention to what you are doing.
  • While walking around with a knife, hold your knife straight down and inform others if you are carrying one.
  • Never reach or try to catch a falling knife.
  • That is important because you can reach into the sink unknowingly and cut yourself.
  • When finished with the knife, never put the knife in the sink.
  • Always clean up broken glass or sharp objects. Use a broom and dustpan. Use a wet cloth to clean up the remaining shards.
  • Lastly, if you ever cut yourself, it is good to cover the wound with a bandage or gauze.
  • If it is severe (bleeding) after a while, go to the hospital. In conclusion, you need to know that cuts in the kitchen are typical but easy to prevent.
