When I was beginning to apply to graduate school, I was really looking forward to finding a path where I could study science as well as have a larger impact. I was lucky to meet Caitlyn Allen and Jo Handelsman, innovative thinkers and intelligent scientists who would work with me to pursue science and education.
Hi there! I’m Sarah Miller and I’m working as the executive director of Tiny Earthat the University of Wisconsin-Madison!
Working at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery and UW–Madison allows me to explore my curiosity and research meaningful topics.
Before I got to Tiny Earth, I was trained as a botanist and plant pathologist through the ‘Wisconsin Fast Plants Program’.
Together, we created a group dedicated to these causes named Issues in Life Sciences Education. We would meet to discuss teaching and learning in STEM.
Now, as executive director of Tiny Earth, I am so happy to work on this amazing program that is a culmination of everything I love about science and education.
