  • Pueblo peoples were forced to become servants in Spanish homes, the Spanish priests tried to convert the Pueblo peoples to Christianity, and they pressured the Pueblo Indians by hanging, whipping, or putting them in prison. In my picture it shows a Spaniard whipping a Pueblo person because she was practicing her religon.

  • The Pueblo people felt miserable, unhappy, and furious because the Spanish were treating the horrible. In the picture it shows and mom crying and a daugther calming her mom.

  • The main reason that the Pueblo Revolt was successful was that Popé was able to launch a highly-coordinated assault on the Spanish by a large group spread over a large geographic area, the Pueblos were able to drive the Spanish from the area and gain control.   • The Pueblo Revolt sent Spanish colonists and Tigua Indians of New Mexico fleeing southward to take refuge at the pass, transplanting the names of New Mexico river pueblos, including La Isleta and Socorro, to the El Paso area. In the picture it shows Spanish men leaving to El Paso.
  • After returning to New Mexico, the Spanish continued to expand their lands., they moved into present day Texas & Arizona, they established new settlements that they hoped would help them retain control over Southwest. In the picture it shows the Spanish coming back and taking of again.
