One day, my Mother, Gina, approached me and talked to me as she noticed that I keep myself isolated from them - even my friends. She told me something that struck my mind.
Elle, how are you? I just noticed that you are being distant these past few days. I suggest you engage with other people and/or try new activities that will probably make you happy.
I'm doing just fine, Mom. I will consider on doing and/or engaging to some activities.
After that conversation with my Mother, I pondered on what to do. What kind of activities should I do? Will it help me grow as an individual? Will it make me happy?
What should I do? Should I read some books? Should I exercise? Watch a movie? Do charity? Ugh!
The next morning, I started my day doing yoga. After that, I enjoyed my breakfast while reading a self-help book, which was recommended to me by one of my friends. After that good read, I took a nap - When I woke up, I decided to browse my social media accounts and saw someone who needed financial support due to hospitalization - by then, I decided to send a small amount, just to help.
My Mother was right. Doing and/or trying something new is not that scary. At some point, it helped me to learn more about myself. And it made me happier. Like, in a span of one day, I did so many.
