How do our bones form? I should ask my friend if he knows!
Hey! What seems to be the problem? Is there anything I can help?
Actually yes, do you know if there is a process for our bones to form?
Yes! There is actually two types of bone formation. The Endochondral Ossification and Intramembranous Ossification!
Endochondral Ossification- A process of bone formation wherein it takes place on the rise of cartilage and involves deposition of lime salts in the cartilage matrix and then secondary absorption, replacement of bony tissue takes place.- Cartilage will form first and the bone is on it -Also takes a longer time to form a given bone
Intramembranous Ossification- A process of bone formation wherein the growth of osseous tissue within a mesenchymal tissue without any cartilage formation in the beginning.- The bone is directly formed on mesenchyme.-Takes less time in forming a bone.
Yes! Usually endochondral ossification stops at 2 years old while intramembranous ossification stops at 18 years old for female and 21 in males!
