Charles I was very unpopular because of the limits he set.The limits he set were that he would tax the people.He would also be given the right to imprison citizens without cause, quarter troops, and institute martial law.

The new model Army took control, Cromwell purged anyone who did not support them. The so called Rump Parliament had gotten Charles I executed on January 30, 1649. The parliament had then abolished the monarchy and declared England a Commonwealth

A group of English leaders invited the Dutch leader to invade England.But with the invasion it also involves William and his family which is the dutch leader. This was an issue because his wife would technically be against her father. But William wanted to fight for the reason the English leaders had gave him in the first place.
It had helped create a system of Government, which meant everyone was under the same laws. And another action was the Toleration Act, it granted the puritans, but not Catholics the right to worship publicly, which ended prosecutions for the English.
