- Later that same day. As Ruth is ironing clothes Beneatha emeges grandly from her room in a Nigerian robe and headdress she recieved as a gift from Asagai. Beneatha turns off Ruths music and puts on a Nigerian record.

- Beneatha begins to dance and jump to the melody. Ruth watches her dumbfounded. Walter walks in during this ceremony and has obviously been drinking.

- Walter joins in singing and dancing with his sister.
- YEAH... AND ETHIOPIA STRETCH FORTH HER HANDS AGAIN!!

- Ruth, over the whole situation, continues with her laundry. Walter jumps on the table and sings. Beneatha encourages her brother enthused by his strange mood.

- Walter imagines he is a great cheif to his people in Nigeria. He imagines he kills his enemys with a spear.

- The celebration is interupted when there is a sudden ring of the doorbell. Ruth turns off the music and answers the door.
