  • Personally, there is too much evidence on either side for me to decide.
  • The Five ProofsA pastor, agnostic professor and an atheist scientist are debating the existence of God:
  • I believe that God does not exist whatsoever.
  • I completely agree that God exists - I mean, just look at how irrefutable the supporting evidence is. • By realizing how God has fine-tuned this universe for human life, I believe that I have experience general revelation.
  • That makes God seem unjust if some encounter revelations but some do not.
  • However, your analogy holds a problem - we cannot compare a watch to the much bigger universe. Even if we were to, evolution by natural selection has not been considered. It impresses us with the illusion of design, as said by Richard Dawkins.
  • If one was to look at the Teleological (Design) Argument, they would see that the universe needs a creator, similar to how a watch requires a creator. Who else can that creator be but God . God is the creator of our universe.
  • Anyways, we do not know much about the universe, so we can just take an educated guess.
  • The only watchmaker in nature is the blind forces of physics!!
  • Why can't evolution and God be compatible? It does not explain how the universe came to exist, to begin with.
  • Miracles do not provide a scientific or medical reason, furthermore.
  • It is known that some 'miracles' are fakes, created by people wanting fame and money.
  • We can also use miracles to prove God's existence. The Church thoroughly investigated a miracle at Lourdes where a French girl and others have been healed by special water after praying.
  • However, miracles mainly took place, before we had a sufficient knowledge of nature - science can now explain them
  • There have been too many miracles over history for them all to be false, lies or hallucinations.
  • We don't need to claim something is 'miraculous' - science can explain why people survive.
  • If i'm not mistaken, some theists argue against miracles since God is meant to be just and all loving. In contrast, this argument shows God as unfair by picking and choosing.
  • It's starting to get dark now. We've been here for hours now.
  • Although I may heavily believe in the existence of God , I respect the opinions of non-believers
  • Everyone has different religious viewpoints and beliefs, whether it be theism, atheism or agnosticism like me, that must be respected.
  • Everyone reasons in their own dissimilar way, whether that be with miracles, revelation or philosophical arguments
