- One day, As Abram was 99 years old the Lord appeared and told Abram he would make a covenant between them and he would increase their numbers. Hearing this Abram fell to his knees. The Lord then made this Covenant everlasting.
- This is my Covenant with you. You will be a father of many nations. You will no longer be called Abram but Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. Kings will come from you. To the whole land of Canaan I will give everlasting possession to you and the descendants after you.
- Thank you so much Lord.
- As God continued speaking to Abram he mentioned changing both his name and his wives. He told Abram when his son would be coming.
- For your names Abram, you will be Abraham, as I have made you a father of many nations. As for your wife, she will no longer be called Sarai, it will be Sarah. I will bless her and will surely give her a son. Your sons name will be Isaac. I will establish a covenant with him with an everlasting one to go to the descendants!
- When they had finished speaking God went up from him.
- As only if Ishmael might live under your blessing! And for Ishmael I will bless him and greatly increase him numbers. Sarah will bear Isaac to you this time next year!
- But Lord, how will I a 99 year old man, bear and care for a child?
- Although the Lord had told Issac pretty much everything he still wasn't sure how he a 99 year old man would have a child.
