- In Act IV Scene I of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet and Paris go to Friar Lawerence to talk about Juliet and Paris's marriage. Paris doesn't know that Juliet isn't going to marry him so it is kind of awkward. Juliet really came to make a plan with Friar Lawerence to avoid marriage to Paris. The theme of this scene is lying.
- Trust your instincts
- In Act IV Scene II of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet comes home to her father and mother preparing for her wedding. She surprises her mother and father by showing disobedience because she doesn't want to marry Paris. It is resolved by Lord Capulet saying he's moving the wedding up a day. The theme of this scene is respect and loyalty.
- Freedom is key
- In act IV scene III of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet sends the Nurse away and takes the potion Friar Lawerence gave her. She is taking the potion to fake her death so she can sneak away with Romeo. If the potion doesn't work, she will die. The theme of this scene is trust.
- Poison is Freedom
- In act IV scene iv of Romeo and Juliet, the whole Capulet house is planning Juliet and Paris's wedding. Little did they know, Juliet is upstairs drinking a possibly deadly potion. The theme of this scene is never force anything upon anyone.
- Things can change
- In act IV scene v of Romeo and Juliet, Lord Capulet tells the nurse to wake up Juliet. When the Nurse finds her "dead" she calls Lord Capulet and Lady Capulet in and they all start crying.
