It all started off with the Greeks creating amazing architecture like columns and building with new materials that set a foundation for the Romans who bettered the columns and made massive progress with arches which are used for big bridges. They also took the Greek idea of using new materials to build to a whole new level. building some of the coliseum and underwater architecture out of volcanic rock and ash. After that, the byzantine empire furthered every type of architecture but there biggest achievement was there furtherment of the dome. They found a way to make the domes bigger easier to build, and shorter to build.
