  • Lady Macbeth and Macbeth find it difficult to savor their royal status due to the weight of their bad deeds. Despite their position, guilt and remorse overshadow any sense of joy. In an attempt to lift Macbeth's spirits, Lady Macbeth endeavors to console him. However, Macbeth's moral decay persists, and he conceals the fact of Banquo's murder, further deepening the chasm between him and his wife.

  • The two murderers find that Macbeth has sent a third murderer to help them ambush Banquo and Fleance. Banquo is killed and Fleance escapes.

  • The assassins come back to the castle and recount the events to Macbeth, revealing the success of their mission against Banquo. Macbeth, perturbed by the news, rejoins the state dinner. However, a peculiar turn of events unfolds as he discovers there are no available seats. To his dismay, Banquo's ghost appears and occupies the last seat, visible only to Macbeth. Filled with a mix of anger and terror, Macbeth confronts the ghost, causing a disturbance that disturbs the guests. Lady Macbeth, sensing the escalating situation, eventually decides to dismiss the guests, putting an end to the chaotic and unsettling scene.

  • Hecate expresses her frustration with the three witches for interfering in Macbeth's life. Determined to wreak havoc, she devises a plan to undermine Macbeth by planting the idea in his mind that he is invincible. Hecate seeks to manipulate his perception and lead him down a path of overconfidence and eventual downfall.

  • Lennox and a lord talk about the past events. They conclude that Fleance killed Banquo, Duncan's son killed Duncan and that Macbeth isn't a good man. They also reveal that Mcduff and Malcolm have gone to England and are raising an army to invade Scotland.
