  • Lets talk about Albeto. Albeto is the amount of sunlight reflected off of a surface. For example clouds have high albedos because they reflect sunlight. This pavement has a low albeto because its a darker surface. This means it absorbs the incoming solar radiation.
  • UVB rays are mostly absorbed by ozone in earths atmosphere. Dense forests have low albetos. This is because the trees are darker and absorb more solar radiation.
  • Infrared has a longer wave length than visible light. Visible light does have a higher frequency than infrared radiation.
  • Visible light is the electromagnetic radiation that reaches earths surface. Infrared radiation is the electromagnetic radiation that earths surface emits.
  • Infrared Radiation
  • When Infrared radiation is emitted by earth's surface it reaches the atmosphere and most of it goes back towards earth but some of it travels through the cells in the atmosphere and escapes. Just like the model I have set up on the board behind me.
  • That makes Earth's temperature a little warmer because most of the infrared radiation it emits comes right back.
  • Earth's atmosphere is mainly mad up of mostly Nitrogen and Oxygen
  • When people think about forest fires they don't usually see that there more than meets the eye. The smoke forest fires produce is made up of carbon dioxide which is harful to plants, animals, and the atmosphere.
  • Wastewater usually isn't acknowledged much but wastewater increases the atmospheres concentration of Nitrous-Oxide
  • Fossil fuel production is one of the many human activities that increases methane concentration in the atmosphere.
  • Forest fires are famously depicted as just big fires that burn trees. But they are more than meets the eye. Forest fires cause an up rise in Carbon dioxide.
  • Trapping/Reflectingheat
  • The Carbon Dioxide levels today are very high because of all the massive forest fires we are experiencing. The forest fires have been so massive that the amount of smoke produced by them is insane. All the smoke produced by the forest fires is Carbon Dioxide.
  • Humans have a big impact on the greenhouse effect. Approximately every 100,000 years the carbon dioxide levels peak at all time highs. Except for today carbon dioxide levels have never gone higher than 300 parts per million.
  • Though with an increase in greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere would come a higher temperature here on earth.
