DENIAL

BARGAINING

Steven was in denial when he was told that Jeffrey may have cancer. He refused to believe that Jeffrey could have a chance of dying.
DEPRESSION

Steven began to feel the anger stage of grief after his father started to practically ignore his existence.
ACCEPTANCE

Steven begins bargaining with God that if he heals Jeffrey, he'll give up something he wants to do.
Summary
You can tell Steven starts to experience the stage of depression because he begins to isolate and not care about his class work.
Steven begins going through the acceptance phase when he start to ignore the cancer and try to start cheering Jeffrey up instead.
Steven had gone through all 5 stages of grief. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptence.
