- In 2008 Kanye broke up with his fiance Alexis Phifer after 6 years and just after just 18 mounths of engangement. A year later in 2009 Kanye West came out with his album 808s and heartbreaks. He made this song called heartless exposing his experiences of a toxic realationship with Alexis Phifer. In this song Kanye describes how a woman can be so heartless and leave him after all the things that they have been through. Kanye West also expresses in this song how she is saying that she is breaking up with Kanye and he describes how her friends are encouraging her to break up with Kanye and her friends are saying to her that we don’t see what you see in Kanye. Even though she says that they are broken up Kanye questions her and says then why are we still talking to each other on the phone and still are communicating like they are still together. Towards the end Kanye says that that he is not going to let this woman distract him from achieving his goals and reaching his dreams. He has been through a relationship like this before and knows how these types of relationships can affect his life badly if he lets it and gets distracted by it. At the end Kanye West ends the toxic relationship and says whatever he does it never seems to ever work out and he is tired of going back and forth and they are just going to stay enemies and not make things right.
