- This is an example of verbal irony because the narrator said "i loved the old man". The narrator was everything but loving or nice to the old man. If the narrator really loved the old man the narrator would have helped the old man or get him an eye patch,but instead the narrator takes the life of the old man love does not hurt someone it makes someone feel happy or special.
- This is an example of situational irony because the narrator welcomes the police officers.The narrator was calm and not worried what normally would happen when someone kills a person is that the killer would start freaking out and probably try to flee the scene.If they fail to escape and the cops came to the crime scene the killer would not be calm they would be hesitating and shaking
- This is an example of dramatic irony because we know as the the readers that the narrator chopped the old man into pieces and put them under the floor bored's.
